Everyone brings unique gifts, talents, and experiences to the Cursillo community. Whether you enjoy bringing people together, sharing music, communicating with others, or helping Cursillo reach new communities, there are many ways to put your gifts into action. Explore the opportunities below and discover how your special skills can help strengthen and support the Cursillo Movement throughout our Diocese.

Ultreya Coordinator

Taken from an older Spanish word meaning “onward”, an Ultreya is a larger gathering of Cursillistas and those interested in Cursillo to encourage the Community in their daily walk in piety, study, and action. There is usually music, food, and a talk from a Cursillista about their challenges and successes in their daily walk.

Ultreyas are frequently held monthly in a geographical area bringing together many smaller Group Reunions. In this Diocese, we have 3 primary geographical areas but would love to have more so that Ultreyas are more easily accessible.

The Ultreya Coordinator would acquire the location, musicians, and speaker and then provide communication about the gathering.

Music Team

Our musicians provide accompaniment and lead the singing for our groups at Ultreyas, 4th Day gatherings, and Weekends. Using primarily guitars, we “make a joyful noise to the Lord” together.

Cursillo Sunday Coordinator

Like the Ultreya Coordinator, this person works with a more local team of Cursillo speakers and musicians to share information about Cursillo in a Sunday worship service at an Episcopal Church in the Diocese. Informational meetings are held with the clergy at that Church to plan the date, music, and speakers. There may or may not be a Cursillo presence at that church when this happens. Our goal is to spread the word about the Cursillo Movement and help build servant communities.

In our Diocese, we have 3 primary geographical areas for outreach to encourage more servant communities through the Cursillo Sunday outreach.

Communications Team

The task of communicating across the Diocese with such a large Community requires a team. If you have skills for the following areas and have attended a Cursillo Weekend, we probably have a place for you.
